Zubin was born in Bombay, India. He spent his childhood eating insufferable meals served by his mother. Following the rule of the jungle and a natural instinct to fend for himself, he started learning how to cook. Hotel school and an internship at the prestigious Oberoi School followed soon enough. From there on he has managed to work in a series of prestigious establishments in various countries. Faced with an incensed conscience that found Indian cookbooks lacking in all good things Indian and where products rarely turned out the way they were supposed to, he spent two years traveling the countryside, eating along the way and apprenticing in several places to capture the true culinary soul of India. This book is a culmination of that journey.
