Nogent was founded in 1923 and still manufactures all its products in its own factory in eastern France, near the Champagne region with a tradition of knife making that dates back to the middle ages. All the production steps are quality controlled by long-term, experienced personnel, which guarantees very reliable products designed for a lifetime of use. The unique Nogent micro serration process creates an edge with four tiny teeth per millimeter that can barely be seen with the naked eye. The blade never needs sharpening for the life of the knife and produces surgically thin slices even with delicate food like tomatoes. It is also much safer than regular edges and will not tear the food like ordinary serrated edges. A good chef's knife (also called a French knife) can help you make fast work chopping fresh fruits and vegetables and large foods like a watermelon or cantaloupe. It has a broad, tapered shape and a fine sharp edge designed to rock on a cutting board as it cuts food.
