Welsh Cawl: This traditional Welsh one pot lunch means " Broth " in Welsh. The ingredients are: parsnips, beef broth, bacon and / or a hock of smoked ham, potatoes, leeks, onion, salt and pepper. The rural Cawl is served with a whole grain bread called Maslin and a fresh cheese variety, Caerphilly, after the village in which it originates.
